First Official Snowman

So we built our first official snowman on Saturday. There was so much snow everywhere it was actually pretty easy. We lifted it into the back of our truck and Jason did most of the decorating. I didn't really think about it but our neighbors must have thought we were pretty weird, since it's been snowing here for 4 months and we were acting like little kids who've never seen snow! (well i haven't ever seen snow like this!)

I guess it's not really a snowMAN since we gave her long blonde hair, so here we are with our completed Snowgirl. We didn't have any carrots so we used an Otterpop for her nose, and they don't really have rocks around here, so Jason stole some from my rock fountain.

We woke up to MORE snow this morning and a snowman that needs to go on a diet. It was always my understanding that snowmen melt over time, not grow larger...it's been 5 days!... but I guess everything is a little different up here in the land of the frozen chosen (BYU-Idaho)

Living Room

This is our living room. Mom Gardner wanted to see pictures of it, so here they are (:
Jason's very proud of his ability to talk on the phone AND play the computer... the sun came out for the first time this week, so it's a little bright.


He still loves the ukelalie we bought in hawaii and plays it pretty much every day

Rexburg Temple

Jason and I went to the Rexburg Temple for the first time on Saturday. It's right down the street, you can actually see it from our front window, so we walked in the snow. I was kinda afraid I was going to freeze on the way, but Jason was right, I didn't. (; It's a beautiful temple and nearly as crowded as the Mesa temple. We waited 30 minutes to get in and had an overflow session. But it was definitely worth it!

Ok, so we're mostly done unpacking and I finally hung a few pictures. Since nobody has seen what our new apartment looks like i'll post a few pictures...
Here's our cute little kitchen which is pretty much what you see when you walk in the front door. Note the dishwasher, such a beautiful invention, and the working stove...it's lovely! (the only problem is, now i don't have an excuse not to use it)

This is my flower painting that's attempting to detract from our boxes we're storing above the cupboards (: and my violin painting that's been moved to nearly every wall but can't find a permanate home yet...

Walk through the kitchen and here's our bedroom with the bathroom to the left. I'm in love with the crown molding shelf, but still haven't decided what to do with it. But it's been fun trying different things.

So that's our home. Small but absolutely perfect for us! We're loving the snow and loving our warm house even more. We're excited for school in April and hoping to be blessed with jobs sometime in the near future! Until then, I'll just have to keep rearranging the house (:

Idaho Move

We left Joseph City early Saturday morning and made it to Provo where we spent the night at the cheapest hotel we could find. It was...cute...(; It was fun walking around Provo that night. It was SO cold but it was beautiful. The next morning we left for Rexburg and made it safely but about 3 pm. When we drove into Rexburg the whole town was pretty much burried in snow! Jason and I had to pull nearly all of our boxes out to get our King bed out of the trailer, but we managed to get it out and carried/pulled/dragged it up to our new apartment on the 3rd floor! It was pretty entertaining actually. We had nearly everything moved into our apartment by monday night and got quite a workout going up and down all those stairs. I was so excited to be moved into our gorgeous new apartment. It's a perfect size and so beautiful! We're right across the street from campus and we can see the temple out our front window. I'm currently in love with Rexburg and it's charming small town atmosphere, but more shopping than I've ever had before. Our neighbors are all really friendly and I can't wait to go to our ward Sunday! I'm so glad we had so much time over the holidays with family, but it's also really nice to just have the two of us now. Hopefully we'll find jobs soon and get settled into our new life.
