Pics for David

So I have a TON to write with this post, but I need to go to sleep and wanted to get some pictures up for David to see. So here's a little mini sum up of everything for my cute little brother whose going to be home in less than a month!!!

Well he's finally here! (:

Tuesday morning we went into the hospital and had them break my water then started walking around to get contractions started. (actually the only part I really remember is me running up and down stairs while Jason took the elevator each time, haha) Everything went really well and Kayden James Gardner was born at 4:40pm on June 21st. When we got to the hospital that morning we still hadn't decided between the names "Kayden" and "Logan" I really liked Kayden and made a deal that if he came out with red hair we would name him that, but any other color hair (or bald) and Jason could name him Logan. Jason swears he had brown hair until that moment and it changed to red just to make me happy. It's actually hard to tell what color it is...sometimes it looks brown sometimes red, it even has some blond in it, so we'll just have to see.

Justin's still not sure he feels about the whole "baby brother" situation...when my Mom brought him to the hospital he wouldn't even look at the kid, just totally ignored him and ran around trying to turn lamps and tv's on. Justin actually got a fever the night before we came home and has been sick with a cough and runny nose this whole week, so he's kind of had a hard time adjusting to someone else being in mom's arms instead of him the whole time.

39 weeks and 4 days pregnant

the waiting game... and HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY to KATY & KINZI!!!!!!

I'm officially 4cm and 80% and have been having irregular contractions and back pain all day long (could just be due to them stripping my membranes though) but nothing that feels like ACTUAL labor. I had Justin 6 days early, which would have been this past wednesday, but I have no idea when THIS kid will decide to join us, so now it's kind of just a waiting game. (That's not completely true I guess, if he's not here by Tuesday-my due date I'm sending an evacuation order-I'm scheduled for an induction that morning since my mom will be here for the week. YAY! But I really hope he comes on his own before that).

When I went to my appt this morning and found out I'd already progressed to 4cm, I thought for sure this kid would be on his way (with the extra nudge of stripping my membranes). 

I was SO ready to have a baby this morning:

-finally got a beautiful nights sleep

-sparkling clean house, 

-to-do list FINALLY completed, 

-and it's the weekend so we have neighbors that can babysit and 

-a husband without classes or tests.

...NOW: 

-Justin's already trashed the house again, 

-I'm EXHAUSTED 

-and I've since discovered MORE things that should be on my to do list.

I've concluded that babies do NOT come when you are ready for them, they come when they are ready for you. Apparently this kid 's already gotten a glimpse of what he's getting himself into and is a little hesitant to evacuate his nice warm home. And honestly, I can't blame him.

With all that said, and more importantly I would like to wish an  

INCREDIBLY Happy First Birthday 

to my sweet little 1-year-old nieces:

Little Miss Kathryn Emily Kerrigan (today) 

&

Little Miss Kinzi May Weech (tomorrow)

They are the sweetest little girls and I seriously can't believe they're already ONE! Time sure does fly!!!  

(especially when you live in a different state)

We wish we could be there for all the fun 

(and I wish even more that I would have actually gotten their cards made and in the mail-super slacker aunt, I know) but we want them to know how much we love them and are excited for all the birthdays in the future that we WILL get to be around for!

The Carousel Ride

Can I say how much I LOVE going to the park in the summer time? The only problem is I'm not sure when/if summer will actually get here...
Yesterday, the temperature got clear up to 72 degrees and it was actually sunny out, so Jason and I decided we'd meet at the park when Justin woke up from his nap. (Jason has an hour break then). As soon as the little guy woke up, I stuck his socks and shoes on and we were out the door. During the two minute ride to the park it was so nice and warm and possibly even hot and Justin was SO excited to play at the park...but alas, we do live in Rexburg, and I should have known that the moment we got to the park a nice rain storm would appear out of nowhere.
I hadn't brought jackets and it was FREEZING so Jason decided we should splurge (a whole dollar!) and let Justin ride on the cute little carousel there since it's mostly inside. I volunteered to take pictures so Jason found a cute little horse for Justin to ride on and waited for the ride to start...

(don't let that supposed sunshine in the background fool you, it was freezing and started pouring about 5 minutes later)

Justin wasn't completely sure about what was going on...

and the moment the carousel began moving and the music started...he lost it. He turned bright red and burst into tears. I hate to admit it, but it was one of the cutest things I've ever seen. Justin is SUCH a daddy's boy, but when he saw me standing there with my feet firmly planted on the ground all he could do was cry and reach his chubby little hands out hoping to be rescued from this apparently terrifying ride.

...I guess Disneyland is currently out of the question...
